Bassier, Bergmann & Kindler develops sales-focused POS solutions for Microsoft Surface

Ludwigsburg: March 12, 2009
Bassier, Bergmann & Kindler (BB&K) now belongs to the exclusive circle of Microsoft Surface Development Partners in Germany. The applications development of this new media agency focuses on sales-oriented solutions that are specially geared towards customer experience at the point of sale (POS). Its approach met with wide-ranging acclaim at this year’s CeBIT. The first pilot project is due to launch in June.

Having acquired the status of a development partner, BB&K is now very clearly on the list of big names. “We’re proud to be part of this exclusive circle of innovators,” says Andreas Herde, Managing Director of BB&K Ludwigsburg. BB&K concentrates mainly on sales and service-focused solutions that support customers in their purchase decisions and information processes at the point of sale. “Microsoft Surface gives customers a completely new experience at the point of sale. Anyone who is merely concerned about the image effect fails to appreciate the potential that Microsoft Surface offers them and throws away the immediate initial trust they receive from their customers,” says Andreas Herde.

As BB&K sees it, demand is particularly high in sectors that need to provide a large amount of advice – such as the car industry, telecommunications and consumer electronics. “The feedback we received at CeBIT was overwhelming,” says Andreas Herde. “The challenge for those industries is to present the complexities of their products in a way that their customers can easily relate to and experience.”This is where BB&K solutions come in, with clearly presented charts instead of long-winded explanations, with configurators that compile products from a range of modules, and with hands-on applications instead of product statistics, i.e. presentations that arouse people’s inquisitive nature and help to reduce their inhibitions. “The customer receives the best possible advice while being involved in the purchase decision process with effortless ease. This gives customers a generally positive emotional experience of the brand and therefore ultimately leads to more purchases,” says Andreas Herde.

In its innovation process with Microsoft Surface BB&K can look back to many years of experience with clients such as Porsche, O2 and Hugo Boss. “Our product portfolio is perfectly suited for the scenarios we have shown,” says Andreas Herde. One great benefit of BB&K is that this agency not only specialises in digital brand management, but it is also one of the biggest e-learning agencies in Germany. “Thanks to our expertise in those two areas, we have not only the right brand and sales expertise, but also the educational know-how that is required to make the most of the many different possibilities offered by Microsoft Surface,” says Andreas Herde.

An initial pilot project is already in place. “However, we’re not allowed to tell you any more at this stage,” says Andreas Herde. The Managing Director is already convinced that “with the new Microsoft Surface, new media have finally reached the point of sale.”
