After a fresh start for Raab Karcher Baustoffe GmbH under the name Saint-Gobain Building Distribution Deutschland GmbH (SGBDD) in Germany last year, the new media agency Bassier, Bergmann & Kindler (BB&K) in Ludwigsburg was asked to develop a corporate website for the new company and also to review the site of the extremely well-known brand Raab Karcher. Both websites have been launched now, providing users with a transparent overview of the corporate structure and business units of SGBDD.

The aim in setting up a corporate website for SGBDD was primarily to give the company its own, special profile on the web. The site was to communicate the corporate structure of SGBDD with clarity and transparency. Its well structured navigation system allows users of www.sgbd-deutschland.com to find the most important company details within a very short period of time. A brief profile is presented of each of the company’s brands. This facility is linked to a location finder that allows an immediate search for a nearby branch as well as a filter function for the required business areas. Other site functions include career and press sections.

As well as developing a new site for SGBDD, we completely revised the site of the well-known Raab Karcher brand. The tone, functions and design have been adjusted to suit the specific communication requirements of this brand. The focus was primarily on the needs of users and (professional) customers. These are now met in full: the navigation system permits direct access to each business unit, complete with products, schedules, services and contacts. Moreover, the brand image is further strengthened by information about the company’s history and corporate philosophy.
Transparency through association
Although the two sites are geared towards the needs of each company, the relationship between the two is nevertheless in evidence, both visually and functionally. The user is therefore made aware of the connection between the Raab Karcher brand and the parent company SGBDD, and we have met the customer’s right to obtain the greatest possible transparency on these sites.
